I wish I could say I have been off holidaying in the Caribbean this past month, or sipping champagne in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower, but unfortunately that would be a lie. I’ve simply been incredibly busy, and as there is going to be a bit of online chatter about this over the weekend, I thought it best to do a shameless plug about it. I promise, I’ll be quick!

As clichéd as it sounds, I really do believe that things happen for a reason. Especially the events that seem disappointing at the time. My previous small business experience has lead me to this point and right now I’m feeling pretty excited that my struggles just might be of value to other people…

If you own a small business, we’d love to have your help. I’m currently working on a project for COSBOA (Council of Small Business of Australia) and beyondblue. It’s part of the national Heads Up campaign that is focused on supporting mental health initiatives in Australian workplaces. Importantly, this project is all about developing resources for small business, particularly small business owners.
We’re after a group of small business owners to provide feedback to the team at beyondblue on mental health resources they are producing for the small business sector. Your feedback will help to shape the material developed, and your advice will help us to make sure we reach the right audience. You’re invited to have input into this very important area that may well help to save a life eventually.
Nobody understands the mental challenges of owning a small business better than a small business owner.
You don’t have to be an expert in mental health, and you certainly don’t have to have experienced any mental health challenges personally. You simply need to be a small business owner.
